Hi everyone! I just joined this particular tribe a few minutes ago, and I was just wondering if anyone was even close to me at all. I'm in the Youngstown area, about 15 minutes from the PA border. I think I saw some Clevelanders in here, but maybe I'll get lucky with a few other Y-towners. :)
Thanks for the listing... I didn't know this tribe existed, actually!

Re: Area
Mon, March 1, 2004 - 5:53 PMHi Cashmere --
The Tribe is brand new this week. I am glad to see you here. I don't know how many Youngstown people are part of the Tribe, but I am inviting as many as I can find to join. Maybe you would like to do the same. We here in Cleveland tend to forget that the Youngstown-Warren area is part of Northeast Ohio. Thanks for reminding us. I am looking forward to your hearing your thoughts.

Re: Area
Wed, March 3, 2004 - 7:54 AMAh, Frank. That's okay... lots of people forget about Youngstown-Warren! There's not much here to remember, to be honest! I've actually only lived in this area for about a year, and it's still not at the top of my list. I lived in the Dayton area and before that, Columbus. I also used to live out in California, so when I come out here to Youngstown you can probably imagine the culture shock! It's okay here, though. I just had to adjust. :)
IF I can actually find anyone in this area, then I'll be sure to invite them to your tribe!

Re: Area
Wed, March 3, 2004 - 7:49 AMCashmere -- welcome. This past 60 degree weekend, I went biking on a NEW trail, the Stavich trail (from near Youngstown to New Castle, PA). It was great!!! Just another hidden gem in the region. -

Wed, March 3, 2004 - 7:59 AMOoooh... I've never heard of that, Jason! Thanks!
So it's brand new? Does it actually start in Youngstown, then? I've been wanting to get out and teach my almost 4yo how to ride, and I think we could (eventually) work our way up to a little trek on the track. -

Re: Area
Wed, March 3, 2004 - 1:52 PMI had never heard of it before... but, I understand that the bike trail was privately funded (and maintained) nearly a decade ago. It is another one of those well kept secrets.
A biking friend of mine suggested that I try it.
The trail follows the river well into PA. But, it starts just to the Southeast of Bridge Road (?), on the East side of the river.
There are a few sites on the web that talk about the trail. I note that many of their links (to maps, etc.) are broken though. Here are a few:
